Dr. G Chad Green

Dr. Green, originally from Guin, Alabama, graduated magna cum laude in Natural Science and Mathematics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1989. He earned his O.D. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 1992, subsequently serving as an Optometrist in the U.S. Army until 1994. He continued in the U.S. Army Reserves until 2000. Between 1994 and 2004, Dr. Green worked in private practices and ran his own in Selma, Alabama, from 1997 to 2003. In 2004, he acquired West Alabama Eye Associates in Demopolis, Alabama, and established his second office, VisualEyes, in the Village at Northbank in 2016. 

Dr. Green is an active member of several professional associations, including the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, the American Optometric Association, the Sports Vision Section of the AOA, and the Alabama Optometric Association. Last summer, Dr. Green established his third office, taking over the practice of a retiring doctor in Fayette, Alabama. Outside his practice, he dedicates time to his family, residing in Tuscaloosa and attending One Hope Church with his wife, Meredith.

Dr. Taylor Phillips

Dr. Phillips is a native of Gilbertown, Alabama. She studied accounting at the University of Southern Mississippi and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry and Master of Business Administration degrees in 2019. She was the first to complete the dual degree program offered by UAB—the first of its kind in the nation, obtaining both the OD and MBA simultaneously. Dr. Phillips went on to complete residency training at the Tuscaloosa Veterans Affairs Medical Center with a focus on ocular diseases including diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Alabama Optometric Association. She resides in Tuscaloosa.

Dr. Brooke Clackley

Dr. Clackley is from Boaz, Alabama. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Alabama where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and completed the Honors College Program. She earned her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2023. While at UAB, Dr. Clackley served as an academic tutor, was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and Gold Key Optometric Honor Society and received the Dean’s Award of Excellence. She went on to complete residency training in ocular disease and primary care with the Indian Health Service in New Mexico at Zuni Comprehensive Community Health Center serving the Zuni Indian tribe. Following completion of residency, she returned back to Alabama and joined the VisualEyes team. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and providing care at all our practice locations. Her and her husband, Nolan, reside in Tuscaloosa with their dog, Chief, where they dedicate their time to family, friends, and church.
